Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Overview
True-to-life video that makes reaching out easier and more fun than ever before!
What is Snap!VRS?
Snap!VRS is a form of telecommunication relay services regulated by the Federal Communications Commission under Title IV of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). With the Ojo video phone, qualified sign-language video interpreters communicate directly with individuals that are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing through true-to-life audio and video transmission on Ojo, thereby enabling three way communication with standard telephone users in real-time. The Ojo video phone works with cable, DSL, or other high bandwidth broadband connections to provide the highest quality video transmission (1/6 of a second delay), which is essential when sign language is the primary mode of communication. Our qualified interpreters are available 24x7 and ensure that the message is communicated clearly and accurately.
How does it work?
Snap!VRS calls are simple to make. Just dial 711 on the Ojo video phone and you will be connected to a certified sign language interpreter who will facilitate your call. The interpreter will dial your party on a separate voice line. You communicate with the interpreter using sign language and the interpreter simultaneously relays your comments in spoken English to the person you are calling. The responses from your called party are signed back to you by the interpreter. No text or typing is involved – it's that easy.

Who is eligible?
Snap!VRS is available to individuals who are Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, or Speech Impaired and prefer to use sign language to communicate for phone calls. Additionally, any individual with a hearing or speech impairment is eligible to receive one free PVP-900 Ojo video phone and one free router. Apply for a free Ojo video phone.
How much does it cost?
All VRS calls placed within the continental United States are free. In addition, Snap!VRS will provide a free PVP-900 Ojo video phone, and all direct Ojo-to-Ojo calls to anyone worldwide are free as well.
How else can I use Ojo?
